Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, accessing, or using the BonApp! mobile application ("App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the App.

"TastyBytes", "we", "us", and "our" refer to TastyBytes Oy, a limited liability company registered in Finland, which operates the App.

2. Use of the App

Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use the App. By using the App, you represent and warrant that you meet this age requirement. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under this age.

Account Registration

You may be required to create an account to access certain features. You agree to provide accurate and complete information and to keep your account details up to date.

Prohibited Conduct

  • Violating applicable laws or regulations.
  • Infringing the intellectual property rights of others.
  • Distributing harmful, malicious, or fraudulent software or content.

Recipe and Nutrition Content

Recipes and nutritional information in the App are provided for general informational purposes only and do not constitute dietary or medical advice. Nutritional values are estimates and may vary depending on ingredients, preparation, and portion sizes.

Nutritional data is derived from the USDA FoodData Central database and calculated based on the ingredients and quantities specified. BonApp! is not a medical device.

3. User Content

Ownership

You retain full ownership of any content you submit, upload, or provide ("User Content"). We do not claim ownership of your User Content.

Limited License to Provide the Service

By submitting User Content, you grant TastyBytes a non-exclusive, worldwide, revocable, royalty-free license to store, process, reproduce, modify, adapt, and display your User Content solely as necessary to operate, maintain, and improve the App's features.

This includes actions such as:

  • generating personalised meal plans, nutrition information, or recommendations,
  • syncing your data across devices,
  • enabling sharing features you choose to use,
  • maintaining backups and system integrity.

We do not sell, license, or commercially exploit your User Content outside of the App's core functionality without your explicit permission.

User Responsibility

You are responsible for ensuring that your User Content:

  • is accurate and lawful,
  • does not infringe third-party rights,
  • does not contain harmful, abusive, or prohibited material.

Right to Remove Content

We may remove or restrict User Content that violates these Terms, legal requirements, or TastyBytes policies.

Deleting Your Content

You may delete your User Content at any time by deleting your account. After deletion, we remove User Content from active systems except where retention is required for legal compliance, fraud prevention, resolving disputes, or enforcing our Terms.

Privacy and Data Use

Any personal data in User Content is handled according to our Privacy Policy.

4. Privacy

Your use of the App is subject to our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms.

5. Intellectual Property

Ownership

All intellectual property rights in the App (excluding User Content) belong to TastyBytes or its licensors.

License

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes.

6. Subscriptions and Payments

BonApp! offers an optional premium subscription, BonApp+, available on a monthly or annual basis. Subscriptions are managed and billed exclusively through Apple App Store or Google Play. TastyBytes does not process or store payment information.

Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period. You may cancel at any time through your Apple ID or Google Play account settings.

We reserve the right to change subscription pricing at any time. Changes take effect at the start of the next billing period.

On cancellation or expiry, your account reverts to the free tier. Your saved content remains accessible subject to free tier limits. We do not delete your data on cancellation.

7. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

Disclaimers

The App is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the App.

Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory consumer rights under applicable law.

8. Changes to the Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via the App before they take effect. Continued use of the App after the effective date of changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

9. Changes to the Service

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the App at any time. We will endeavour to provide reasonable notice of significant changes. We are not liable for service interruptions or changes.

10. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account without notice if necessary to protect users, comply with applicable laws, or address violations of these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the App ceases immediately.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Finland. EU consumers also retain mandatory consumer rights in their country of residence, which these Terms do not affect.

12. Digital Services Act (DSA) Compliance

Reporting Illegal Content

You may report illegal or harmful content via legal@tastybytes.io. We will review reports promptly.

Content Moderation

We may remove or restrict content or accounts that violate these Terms or applicable law. Where we do so, we will endeavour to notify affected users.

13. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • access your personal data,
  • correct inaccurate data,
  • request deletion of your data and account,
  • restrict or object to processing,
  • data portability,
  • withdraw consent at any time.

14. Third-Party Services

The App integrates third-party service providers to support core features, analytics, performance monitoring, and subscription management. These providers process data on our behalf under strict confidentiality obligations:

  • Cloud Infrastructure & Database Services: for user authentication, data storage, and recipe text recognition.
  • Subscription & Payment Processors: for managing in-app purchases and billing validation.
  • Analytics & User Experience Tools: for monitoring app performance, troubleshooting crashes, and analyzing user interaction patterns to improve usability.

15. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found invalid or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, the remaining provisions continue in full force and effect.

16. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and TastyBytes Oy regarding your use of the App.
